Play Galaxy Robo (Japan) Online
You pilot a customizable mech through chaotic side-scrolling stages, swapping out parts like flamethrower arms and rocket legs between levels while dodging laser grids and swarms of drones. That crunchy '90s synth soundtrack keeps your adrenaline up as you blast through enemy waves.

Game Overview
Galaxy Robo (Japan) is one of those SNES games that slipped under the radar outside Japan, which is a shame because it's basically what happens when you take the tight controls of Mega Man X and mash it up with a garage full of customizable robot parts. You start off with this clunky little mech that feels underpowered—until you realize you can swap out arms, legs, and weapons between stages. Found a flamethrower arm? Suddenly those drone swarms aren't so scary.
The levels are these bright, chaotic side-scrollers where you're constantly ducking under laser grids or boosting over bottomless pits while enemies pour in from both sides. The soundtrack nails that '90s synth-rock vibe, all squealing guitars and punchy basslines. And yeah, the special attacks are ridiculous in the best way—one upgrade literally fills half the screen with explosions.
It never got an English release, but the menus are simple enough to fumble through. Just don't be surprised if you end up spending way too much time in the garage tweaking your robot's loadout instead of actually finishing levels.
