Galaxy Robo came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Copya System. It was one of those mid-90s action games that tried to push the hardware with big sprites and a lot of on-screen chaos. You don't hear much about it now, but it had a certain presence on the shelf next to more established shooters.
You control a large, heavily armed robot, moving screen by screen through hostile alien environments. Your main goal is to clear each area of enemies and survive the relentless waves of projectiles. The game uses a weapon combo system, letting you chain different attacks together for more destructive effect, and certain enemy explosions trigger a satisfying, screen-filling slow-motion effect.
