Game Overview

Gauntlet III: The Final Quest came out on the Amiga in 1991, developed by Gremlin Graphics. It was part of that wave of arcade-style action games that really showed off what the Amiga could do with its graphics and sound, fitting right in with other fast-paced titles of the era.

You pick from the classic quartet: Warrior, Wizard, Elf, or Valkyrie, each with their own style of combat, and then you're dropped into a top-down maze. Your goal is to fight through room after room of monsters, hunting for the exit while managing your health, which constantly drains unless you find food. You'll be smashing generators to stop enemy spawns, grabbing keys to open doors, and collecting potions for temporary boosts like invincibility or extra firepower. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty can feel punishing if you're not careful with your resources. It feels like a tense, cooperative race against your own dwindling life bar.
