Play Gemfire on Msdos Online
Pick a warlord, move troops across pixelated battlefields, and try not to get betrayed by your so-called allies—dragons help, but diplomacy’s just as deadly.

Game Overview
Gemfire is one of those old-school MS-DOS games that somehow still feels fresh—probably because there aren’t many strategy games that mix Risk-style conquest with fantasy creatures and actual diplomacy. You start by picking a warlord (I always went for the fire mage, because dragons), and suddenly you’re juggling troop movements, negotiating with sketchy allies, and praying your castle doesn’t get raided while your army’s off somewhere else.
The pixel art has that classic Koei charm—think detailed little sprites for knights, wizards, and, yes, dragons that actually feel powerful when you deploy them. The best part? Every faction plays differently. Some rely on brute force, others on magic, and a few on just being sneaky backstabbers. It’s the kind of game where you’ll lose an hour without realizing it, just because you had to see if that risky alliance with the dwarves would pay off (spoiler: sometimes it does).
If you’ve ever played Nobunaga’s Ambition and wished it had more fireballs, this is your game. Just don’t blame me when you’re up at 3 AM trying to take one last province.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
