Okay, so Ghostbusters II on NES is basically a weird, janky love letter to the movie. You're running around New York blasting pink slime at ghosts (which feels oddly satisfying), driving Ecto-1A like a bumper car from hell, and yes—you actually pilot the Statue of Liberty at one point. That part's as ridiculous as it sounds—you're lumbering through Manhattan streets torching ghosts with her flame while dodging... whatever those pixel blobs are supposed to be.
The levels jump between side-scrolling shooter bits (watch out for those courthouse ghosts—they swarm you) and these awkward driving sections where you're desperately hunting for speed boosts to clear gaps. Pro tip: diagonal torch shots make the Liberty sequence way easier, but good luck finding that upgrade.
Oh, and keep an eye out for hidden movie logos—snag 20 of those and you get an extra life. You'll need it for the final boss, a nightmare painting that makes you wish the game had co-op.
