Game Overview

Ghostbusters II on the Amiga is one of those late '80s movie tie-ins that somehow nails the vibe even with the hardware limits. You start off cruising around New York in the Ecto-1A, slime meter ticking up as you hunt for spectral activity. The driving feels janky at first—like the car’s sliding on butter—but you get used to it.

Once you find a ghost, it switches to this weird first-person view where you’re aiming your proton stream like a light gun game. The sound effects are spot-on, though—that iconic proton pack whine never gets old. And yeah, the graphics are blocky, but the pink slime oozing everywhere? Weirdly charming.

It’s not deep, but if you grew up with the movies, there’s something about trapping Slimer in a pixelated ghost trap that just feels right.
