Game Overview
Ghosts'n Goblins on the Game Boy Color is like someone took the arcade version, squeezed it into your pocket, and then laughed quietly at your suffering. You play as Arthur, this knight who looks tough in his armor but turns into a panicked, boxer shorts-clad mess the second anything touches him. The first level lulls you in with a few slow zombies—then suddenly you're dodging fire-breathing demons while platforms crumble under you.
It's brutally hard, but in that way where you keep muttering "one more try" even though your hands are cramping. The music’s this weirdly cheerful chiptune that somehow makes getting wrecked by the third zombie feel even more ridiculous. And yeah, you get unlimited continues, but that just means the game gets to humiliate you over and over.
If you’ve played the original, this version’s a fun (read: painful) little nostalgia trip. If you haven’t? Well, now you’ll understand why people either love this game or swear never to touch it again.
