Play Global Defense (USA, Europe) Online
In Global Defense, you control a satellite, shooting down incoming nuclear missiles to protect Earth while managing the relentless wave of threats.

Global Defense was a 1987 release for the Sega Master System, developed and published by Sega. It arrived during a period when many shooters were exploring more structured, defensive scenarios rather than pure forward-scrolling action.
You control a lone orbital defense satellite, tasked with protecting Earth from an endless barrage of nuclear missiles. Your main objective is to prevent the missiles from hitting their targets by shooting them down before they reach the atmosphere. The game plays out on a single screen, with the Earth rotating slowly below; you pivot your satellite to aim and fire at incoming warheads. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as missile patterns become more complex and numerous. Missing even a single missile results in a city being destroyed, accompanied by a stark explosion and a drop in your remaining shields. It feels tense and Sisyphean, a constant race against the clock where every shot matters.
