Play Goal! (Europe) Online
You shove pixelated players around, take wild shots that somehow curl in, and laugh when three of you collide mid-air going for a header—Germany’s weirdly zippy shots help.

Goal! for the NES came out in 1988 from Jaleco, a solid soccer game in an era where sports titles were just starting to find their footing on the console. It wasn't trying to be a simulation; it was built for quick, arcade-style matches you could pick up and play.
You control a team of five players, switching between them to pass, tackle, and shoot your way to a goal. The main objective is simple: score more than your opponent. Signature mechanics include the ability to perform sliding tackles to dispossess other players and a notable power shot that sends the ball screaming toward the net if you have enough space. The pacing is fast, almost frantic, and the difficulty can spike depending on the national team you face. It feels scrappy and unpredictable, like a real playground match where any kick could lead to a goal.
