Play Godzilla (Japan) Online
Command military units to stop Godzilla's rampage, deploying tanks and jets on a grid to protect cities and chip away at his health before he destroys everything in sight.
Godzilla on the NES came out in 1988, published by Toho. It was one of those games that felt ambitious for the hardware, trying to capture the scale of the monster in an 8-bit world. You don't play as Godzilla; instead, you command the military forces trying to stop him, which was a pretty interesting twist for the time.
You control a cursor to position tanks, fighter jets, and battleships across a grid-based map of Japan. Your goal is to reduce Godzilla's health before he destroys every city on the screen. The game plays out screen by screen; you deploy units strategically, watching their attacks chip away at him while he slowly advances toward populated areas. It's methodical, even slow, and the difficulty comes from managing limited resources under constant pressure. The feeling is one of tense, almost futile resistance against an unstoppable force.
