You pick your favorite radioactive nightmare—classic Godzilla, spiky Mechagodzilla, or even that weird plant-dragon thing—and just go to town on each other while flattening tiny pixel cities in the background. The controls are simple, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about landing a perfectly timed tail whip or watching King Ghidorah’s lightning blast send your opponent skidding through a building.
It’s not exactly Street Fighter, but who cares? You’re a 50-story lizard throwing hands with a three-headed space dragon. The sprites are chunky and full of charm, and the attacks feel appropriately ridiculous (Biolante’s vine grab still cracks me up). If you ever wanted to recreate those old Godzilla movie brawls with a friend, this is the closest you’ll get without building a miniature Tokyo in your backyard.
Just don’t blame me when you start arguing about whether Rodan is cheap or just unfairly majestic.
