Play Great Golf Online
Swing your clubs, aim your shots, and try to finish under par as you navigate 18 holes in Great Golf on the Sega Master System.
Great Golf came out for the Sega Master System in 1986, developed and published by Sega. It was one of the few golf games available on the system at the time, offering a straightforward take on the sport without the frills of later titles. For SMS owners, it was a simple option for some virtual time on the green.
You control a golfer from an overhead view, selecting clubs and aiming each shot across 18 holes. The main goal is to finish each course under par, navigating hazards like sand traps and water. Signature mechanics include adjusting your shot power with a meter and accounting for wind direction, which can drastically alter your ball's path. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from judging distances and environmental factors. It feels satisfying when you finally sink a long putt after several frustrating attempts.
