Play Halloween Online
In Halloween, you control Laurie Strode, moving through a neighborhood to rescue kids while avoiding Michael Myers and hiding them in closets.
Halloween came out in 1983 for the Atari 2600, developed by MicroGraphic Image. It was one of the few horror games on the system, and it stood out for trying to capture the tension of the film in a very limited format. At the time, most games were colorful and abstract; this one went for something darker and more deliberate.
You control Laurie Strode, moving from screen to screen in a neighborhood map, trying to rescue children before Michael Myers finds them. You enter houses, hide kids in closets, and occasionally pick up a knife to fight back, though it only stuns him briefly. The pacing is slow and methodical; you have to listen for his breathing and watch for his shape in the shadows. It feels genuinely unnerving to play, knowing he could be waiting just off screen.
