Pilot a dragon mech, explore colorful terrains, and engage in tactical battles while completing story missions in Haou Taikei Ryuu Knight - Lord of Paladin for SNES.
Haou Taikei Ryuu Knight: Lord of Paladin came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, developed by Banpresto. It was part of that wave of mid-90s SNES games that tried to blend strategy with action, drawing from an anime series not many Western players knew at the time. The presentation is bright and colorful, with large sprites and a fantasy-mecha style that feels very much of its era.
You control Adeu, a young knight who pilots a dragon mech called a Laudry Unit. The game mixes overhead exploration with turn-based tactical battles on a grid. You move your unit across different terrain, engaging enemies in combat where positioning and weapon choice matter. You use swords for close attacks and a bow for ranged strikes; your dragon can also unleash special breath attacks. The main goal involves completing story-driven missions, often defending locations or defeating boss units. The pacing is deliberate, and some battles can be challenging due to enemy numbers or objectives. It feels like a compact, hands-on tactical experience with just enough character to make the fights engaging.
