Play Heavy Metal Online
Pick your armored ride, load up on ridiculous weapons, and tear through a chaotic wasteland where every turn could be your last—those smoke-trailing missiles never get old. Split-screen turns it into pure mayhem, especially when you send your friend's car flipping with a perfect rocket hit.

Heavy Metal came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Access Software. It was a time when PC gaming was really starting to find its feet, and this title fit right in with the action-heavy, vehicle-focused games of the era. You weren't just controlling a character; you were driving a heavily armed vehicle through hostile, maze-like environments, which felt like a natural progression from simpler arcade shooters.
You control a futuristic combat car, navigating through a series of interconnected overhead-view maps. The main objective is to hunt down and destroy an enemy command center on each level, all while fending off waves of opposing vehicles and turrets. Signature mechanics include collecting power-ups to upgrade your weapons, from rapid-fire guns to homing missiles, and managing your limited fuel and ammunition to avoid being stranded. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving; one wrong turn can leave you surrounded and quickly destroyed. It feels like a tense, high-stakes race where every decision matters right up to the final explosion.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
