Game Overview

Hebereke’s Popoon is one of those SNES puzzle games that feels like it got lost in the shuffle—which is a shame, because it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. At first glance, it looks like another block-matching game, but then you realize you’re not just clearing tiles—you’re flipping and spinning them to make combos while some weird little creatures cheer (or panic) in the background. It’s like if Tetris Attack and Puyo Puyo had a baby that drank too much soda.

The characters are pure '90s Japanese weirdness—think bouncing blobs with faces and a penguin(?) that might be judging you. The music’s got that upbeat, slightly off-kilter vibe that sticks in your head long after you turn it off. And once you get past the initial "wait, how does this work?" phase, the strategy gets surprisingly deep. Play it solo for a chill time, or grab a friend and watch the screen descend into glorious chaos.

Honestly, it’s the kind of game you’ll boot up for "just one round" and suddenly realize an hour’s gone by. If you dig retro puzzle games with personality, Popoon’s worth digging up.
