Play Hexen Online
Pick a class, then get lost in creepy dungeons—smashing skulls, solving puzzles, and dodging monsters that lurk in the shadows. The warrior, cleric, and mage all play totally different, so you’ll wanna try each.
Hexen on N64 is one of those dark fantasy shooters that feels like Doom’s gothic cousin—if Doom had more puzzles and way creepier vibes. You start by picking between three classes (warrior, cleric, or mage), and each one actually plays totally different—like, the warrior smashes things up close, while the mage flings spells from a distance. I went cleric first, which was a weird mix of both, and honestly? Kinda loved it.
The levels are these sprawling, maze-like dungeons full of switches to hit, secrets to find, and monsters that pop out of nowhere. Some of the puzzles had me backtracking for ages, but figuring them out felt weirdly satisfying. The atmosphere’s thick with that ’90s low-poly gloom—lots of eerie chanting and shadowy corridors. If you’re into retro FPS games with a side of fantasy nonsense, this one’s still a blast to revisit.
