Play High Seas Trader Online
Start with a leaky ship and a mountain of debt—buy low, sell high, and pray pirates don’t sink you before you turn a profit. Watch the wind, plot your course, and try not to get scammed by every port merchant with a smile.

High Seas Trader came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Impressions. It was a straightforward trading sim from an era when games often relied on simple mechanics and player imagination rather than flashy graphics or complex stories.
You control a merchant captain starting with a small ship and a loan to pay off. Your main goal is to buy goods cheaply in one port and sell them for more in another, gradually upgrading your vessel and expanding your trade routes. Key mechanics include managing your ship's condition, navigating using wind direction, and negotiating prices with port merchants who aren't always honest. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty comes from unpredictable events like storms, pirates, or market crashes. It feels like a constant, tense calculation of risk and reward.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
