Hocus Pocus came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Moonlite Software. It was a straightforward platformer from that era, the kind you’d load up after school when you wanted something quick and challenging without a lot of story getting in the way. The graphics were simple but colorful, and it ran on just about any machine you had lying around.

You control a young wizard in a pointed hat, moving screen by screen through a castle full of traps and enemies. Your goal is to collect all the crystals in each stage while avoiding hazards like fireballs, spikes, and bouncing monsters. The jumping feels a little floaty, which makes precision landings tricky; you also have a basic magic attack, but timing it right against fast-moving foes is part of the challenge. The game moves at a brisk pace, and some screens demand quick reflexes and careful route planning. Playing it feels like a tense, focused puzzle where every mistake costs you.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
