Hopy-ONE was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the developer's name. It was one of those simple, early platformers that felt right at home on a beige computer tower, running on a system where every kilobyte mattered.
You control a small, blocky character who only moves by hopping. Your goal is to clear each level by jumping over pits and obstacles, like spikes or moving enemies, as the screen scrolls relentlessly to the right. The main mechanics are timing your bounces to avoid hazards and sometimes landing on platforms that crumble after a moment. The pace is unforgiving; one mistimed jump sends you back to the start. It feels like a tense, rhythmic test of patience and precision.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
