Game Overview

Hugo 2: Who Done It! came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by ITE Media. It was a point and click adventure from a time when these games relied heavily on static screens and inventory puzzles, fitting right in with the genre's early PC offerings.

You control Hugo's girlfriend, navigating a mansion screen by screen to investigate his apparent murder. The main objective is to gather clues and items, interrogate suspects, and ultimately identify the culprit. Signature mechanics include combining objects in unintuitive ways (like using a rubber chicken to distract a guard) and conversing with characters whose responses change based on what you've discovered. The pacing is slow, and some puzzles feel obscure without a guide, but the satisfaction of finally connecting the dots is genuine. It feels like untangling a stubborn knot, piece by piece, until the whole picture snaps into place.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
