Game Overview

Hunter X Hunter - Hunter no Keifu is one of those weird little Game Boy Color RPGs that slipped under most people’s radar—probably because it never left Japan. If you’re into the series, though, it’s a neat time capsule. You pick between Gon, Kurapika, Leorio, or (weirdly) Hisoka right off the bat, and the combat’s pretty basic turn-based stuff, but there’s something charming about seeing the gang in chunky pixel form.

The soundtrack’s got that classic GBC bleep-bloop energy, and the story hits some early manga moments, though don’t expect anything deep. It’s short, kinda janky in places, and definitely feels like a late-90s licensed game—but in a way that’s weirdly endearing if you’re already a fan. Just don’t go in expecting a masterpiece.
