Game Overview

Hurricanes on SNES is this weirdly charming mix of soccer and platforming where you’re basically running against the clock to make it to a big match. You pick between two players—Cal or Napper—and then it’s all about dribbling a soccer ball through obstacle-filled levels while kicking it at enemies (which feels oddly satisfying). The ball also smashes open crates, spilling out medals and trophies that boost your score.

It’s got that classic ‘90s vibe where the premise makes zero sense—why is a soccer team platforming their way to a match?—but the gameplay’s just frantic enough to keep you hooked. The time limits add tension, and the three difficulty levels mean you can either breeze through or sweat it out. The later stages get pretty wild with the layouts, too.

Definitely one of those hidden SNES gems that’s janky in the best way possible.
