I picked up The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer for the Nintendo DS back in 2005, a game developed by Heavy Iron Studios. It was a solid action title for the handheld, arriving when movie tie-ins were common but often hit or miss. This one followed the events right after the first film, putting you in the shoes of the two main heroes to deal with the immediate chaos.

You control either Mr. Incredible or Frozone, switching between them to use their unique powers. Mr. Incredible handles the heavy lifting, smashing through obstacles and enemies with pure strength, while Frozone freezes pathways and opponents, creating platforms over hazards. The goal is straightforward: stop the Underminer from destroying the city. You move through linear levels, battling robots and navigating environmental puzzles that require both characters' abilities. The combat is simple but satisfying, relying on combos and timed button presses. It can feel a bit repetitive at times, but the co-op option (with a second player controlling the other hero) helps break the monotony. Playing it feels like a straightforward, cooperative brawler with just enough variety to keep you engaged.
