Game Overview
Oh man, Indenture—this weird little text adventure from the MS-DOS days still lives rent-free in my head. You start off signing some shady supernatural contract (bad idea), and suddenly you're scrambling to outsmart demons with nothing but your typing fingers and questionable life choices. The writing's sharp, dry, and full of that early '90s charm where every wrong move might get you turned into a toaster or something equally ridiculous.
What I love is how it plays with expectations—one minute you're trying to sweet-talk a demonic bureaucrat, the next you're trapped in a logic puzzle that makes you question if you ever had common sense to begin with. It's got that same vibe as stumbling through a Zork maze while someone narrates your failures with a smirk. The lack of graphics doesn't matter when the text paints scenes this vivid (and occasionally mean-spirited).
Fair warning: save often. I may or may not have rage-quit after accidentally agreeing to eternal servitude in exchange for a sandwich. Worth it.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
