Infestation came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, published by Psygnosis Limited. It was one of those early PC games that leaned into sci-fi horror, fitting right in with the era's growing interest in atmospheric, exploration-heavy titles. You don't hear much about it now, but at the time it offered a tense, methodical kind of challenge.

You control a space marine sent to clear a derelict station of alien eggs and larvae. The goal is straightforward: hunt down every egg in each maze-like level before your oxygen or jetpack fuel runs out. You move screen by screen, using a limited-use flamethrower to destroy eggs and defend against hatched creatures. The pacing is slow and deliberate; you have to manage resources carefully and backtrack through dimly lit corridors to find anything you missed. It feels claustrophobic and tense, especially when your supplies are low and an enemy suddenly scuttles into view.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
