Infinite Space came out on the Nintendo DS in 2009, developed by PlatinumGames and published by Sega. You control Yuri, a young man who commandeers a ship to explore the galaxy, recruit crew members, and engage in tactical space battles. The main goal involves building your fleet, managing resources, and uncovering a sprawling narrative. Key mechanics include customizing your ships module by module, directing your fleet in real time combat with pause options, and making story choices that affect your crew's morale. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, with a steep learning curve that demands patience. It feels like you are personally responsible for every bolt in your ship and every life under your command.
