You're a lone ninja surviving feudal Japan—dodging patrols, sneaking into castles, and slowly building a ragtag rebellion while Nobunaga's goons hunt you down. Every decision feels risky, from hiring sketchy mercenaries to stealing supplies in towns that might turn on you.

Inindo: Way of the Ninja came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed and published by Koei. It was one of those deeper, more complex role-playing games that showed up on the system, offering a different kind of adventure compared to the more straightforward action titles of the era.
You control a lone ninja on a mission to assemble a resistance and ultimately assassinate the warlord Oda Nobunaga. The game unfolds across a large map of feudal Japan, with exploration happening screen by screen. You recruit other characters for your party, manage their loyalty, and engage in turn-based combat against enemy soldiers and monsters. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is significant, demanding careful planning for every journey and dungeon delve. It feels like a tense, strategic struggle where every successful infiltration or battle is a hard-won victory.
