Play Iznogoud Online
Explore quirky locations, collect odd items, and plot hilarious schemes as Iznogoud tries to outsmart the Caliph in this 1997 point-and-click adventure.
Iznogoud came out in 1997 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Coktel Vision. It was a time when point-and-click adventures were common, and this one fit right in with its cartoonish style and straightforward interface. The game didn't try to push technical boundaries, but it had a distinct personality that set it apart from more serious titles of the era.
You control Iznogoud, the Grand Vizier, whose sole objective is to overthrow the Caliph and take his place. The gameplay involves exploring locations screen by screen, interacting with objects and characters to set up elaborate, comically flawed schemes. Signature mechanics include collecting bizarre items to use in your plans, engaging in simple dialogue puzzles to manipulate others, and watching each attempt spectacularly backfire. The pacing is methodical, with a moderate difficulty that comes more from lateral thinking than reflexes. It feels like orchestrating a chaotic puppet show where you are both the puppeteer and the main clown.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
