Game Overview

Jahangir Khan's World Championship Squash came out for the Amiga in 1990, developed by Audiogenic and published by The Sales Curve. It was one of the few dedicated squash simulations on the platform, arriving during a period when sports games were beginning to explore more specific, less mainstream athletics. The game offered a straightforward take on the sport without the flash of more popular titles.

You control a single squash player from a behind-the-back perspective, moving around a detailed court to return the ball. The main objective is to win matches by outscoring your opponent, either in single-player tournaments or against a friend in two-player mode. Key mechanics include executing different shot types, like powerful drives, delicate drop shots, and high lobs, each requiring careful timing and positioning. The ball physics feel responsive, with realistic bounces off the walls and floor that demand quick reflexes. Matches are fast and can be quite challenging, especially against higher-level computer opponents. It feels like a genuine test of anticipation and control.
