So Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier throws you right back into their weird, eco-fueled world—this time they’re chasing an energy crisis to the edge of the map, which, naturally, leads to sky pirates and a whole mess of trouble. Classic Jak move.

It feels like a proper return to form after the racing detour of Jak X. You’re jumping across crumbling ruins, punching things with Jak’s weirdly satisfying melee combos, and occasionally hopping into turret sections or aerial dogfights. Oh, and sometimes Daxter goes full rage monster—those levels play like a chaotic brawler where you just smash everything in sight.

What I like is how they keep mixing it up—one minute you’re platforming through ancient temples, the next you’re dodging cannon fire in a clunky-but-fun airship battle. The eco powers and vehicle upgrades give you just enough customization to mess around with different playstyles. It’s not perfect, but it’s got that same chaotic charm the series is known for.
