Game Overview

James Pond 2: Codename RoboCod came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, published by Millennium Interactive. It was one of those games that stood out in the early 90s for its sheer absurdity and cartoonish style, a time when platformers were often straightforward and serious. You played as a secret agent fish in a world that felt both silly and inventive, a welcome break from more conventional titles of the era.

You control James Pond, a cyborg fish who moves through levels by bouncing on his springy tail. The main goal is to rescue captive penguins from the villainous Dr. Maybe, navigating screen by screen through a toy factory, an underwater base, and other themed areas. Signature mechanics include inflating to push blocks or access new paths, piloting vehicles like a bathtub submarine, and collecting items to unlock doors. The pacing is brisk, with moderate difficulty that spikes in later stages, but the constant variety in obstacles and settings keeps things engaging. It feels chaotic and unpredictable in the best way, a game that never takes itself too seriously.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
