Game Overview

I remember playing Jeopardy! on the Sega Genesis back in 1992. It was published by GameTek, and it was one of those straightforward adaptations of a TV show that felt right at home on the console. You didn't get a lot of bells and whistles, just the core experience of the quiz show, which was exactly what some of us wanted at the time.

You control a contestant, using the D-pad to select a category and dollar amount from the board. The main objective is to outscore two computer opponents by providing correct responses in the form of a question. The signature mechanics are the buzzing in system, which requires precise timing to beat the AI, and the Final Jeopardy wager, where you risk your earnings on one last clue. The pacing is quick, and the computer can be brutally fast on the buzzer, making victories feel genuinely earned. It feels like a tense, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately satisfying test of your trivia knowledge.
