Joe & Mac 3: Lost in the Tropics came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Data East. You control either Joe or Mac, two cavemen armed with boomerangs and bones, working your way through screen by screen across various tropical and prehistoric environments. The main goal is to rescue your kidnapped cavegirl friends from a rival tribe, which involves fighting dinosaurs, hopping across platforms, and avoiding environmental hazards like rolling boulders and lava pits. You can pick up and throw large bones as weapons, ride on certain dinosaurs for a short time, and collect fruit to restore health. The pacing is fairly brisk, though some sections can feel repetitive, and the difficulty has a few frustrating spikes. It feels like a goofy, slightly chaotic trip through a cartoon jungle with a friend at your side.
