Game Overview
Jumpjet is this weird little DOS shooter from 1990 that feels like someone took Defender and gave it a caffeine rush. You pilot this tiny Harrier jet that can hover up and down while blasting missiles at everything in sight—which sounds simple until you realize you're juggling altitude control, dodging enemy fire, and trying not to crash into the terrain all at once.
The first level throws you straight into chaos: you're rescuing stranded soldiers while these annoying drone things swarm you from all angles. The controls take a minute to get used to—holding keys to adjust altitude while tapping others to fire feels awkward at first, but it clicks after a few crashes. There are only four main levels, but the bonus stages (unlocked by scoring well) are where things get properly frantic. The third level's "destroy the fuel depot" objective still gives me flashbacks.
It's janky, it's punishing, and the graphics look like someone drew them during a lunch break, but there's something weirdly satisfying about nailing a perfect missile shot while barely skimming over a mountain. Just don't expect to beat it on your first try—or your twentieth.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
