Play Jungle Hunt Online
Swinging through vines feels smooth until a croc snaps you mid-air, and those rolling boulders? Pure panic fuel. Still nails that "one more try" itch decades later.

Jungle Hunt came out in 1982 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, originally developed by Taito. It was one of those early side-scrolling arcade ports that felt right at home on a PC keyboard, a straightforward action game in an era when many titles were still figuring out what to do with all that screen space.
You control an explorer in a pith helmet trying to rescue someone kidnapped by a tribe. The game is split into distinct sections: you swing on vines over crocodile-infested waters, jump over or duck under rolling boulders on a steep slope, and knife-fight tribesmen in a cave. Each screen presents a clear obstacle that demands timing more than complexity. The pacing is quick, and mistakes are punished instantly, especially in the vine-swinging section where mistiming a jump means a quick death. It feels tense and immediate, a game where every movement counts and hesitation gets you killed.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
