Play Karnov (Japan) [En by Vice v1.1] Online
You play as a mustachioed Russian strongman who breathes fire at cyclopes and floating heads—jumping’s stiff, but roasting enemies never gets old. That synth track will haunt your dreams.

Game Overview
Karnov is this weirdly charming NES game from 1987 where you play as a fire-breathing, mustachioed Russian strongman—yeah, that’s the actual premise. At first it feels like a typical side-scroller, but then you realize half the enemies are mythological creatures and the power-ups include floating orbs that shoot lightning. The controls take a minute to get used to (jumping feels a bit stiff), but once you figure out the timing for Karnov’s fire breath, it’s oddly satisfying to roast everything in your path.
It’s got that classic arcade vibe where the difficulty spikes hard if you’re not careful, but the sprite work is surprisingly detailed for its time—especially Karnov’s ridiculous outfit. The music’s got this repetitive but weirdly catchy synth track that’ll stick in your head for days. Definitely one of those "so bad it’s good" NES gems.
