Play Kindercomp Online
Guide a turtle cursor, type answers, solve puzzles, and complete learning activities like math and spelling in this early educational title for kids.
Kindercomp came out in 1984 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Spinnaker Software. It was one of those early educational titles designed for young kids just getting familiar with a keyboard and a monochrome monitor. You didn't need fancy graphics or a fast processor; the goal was simple interaction, making the computer feel like a friendly tool rather than a complex machine.
You control a small turtle cursor, inputting simple commands to guide it across the screen. The main objective is to complete various learning activities, like basic math problems, spelling exercises, or pattern recognition games. Two signature mechanics involve typing answers to move the turtle, drawing lines to form shapes, and solving puzzles that often reward you with a simple animation. The pacing is deliberately slow, giving you time to think and type without pressure, and the difficulty is gentle, aimed at building confidence. It feels like a patient, low-stakes introduction to computing, where every correct answer is a small, satisfying victory.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
