You control Kirby across several distinct game modes, each with its own objective. In the main mode, you explore levels screen by screen, inhaling enemies to copy their abilities, like wielding a sword or breathing fire. The goal is to collect pieces of a spaceship scattered throughout the levels. The pacing is generally relaxed, though some of the later challenges and the arena boss fights demand more precision. It feels like a generous and inventive package that encourages experimentation.
