Kirby Super Stars Ultra is basically a greatest hits collection for the pink puffball, but with a fresh coat of paint for the DS. You get a bunch of classic Kirby games packed into one cart—some are short and sweet, others have a bit more meat to them. The controls are simple (it’s Kirby, after all), but the copy abilities keep things interesting—sword-swinging, fire-breathing, even turning into a fridge for some reason.

The remake adds touchscreen minigames and some extra modes, but the real charm is in the original games. The art pops on the DS screen, and the music’s still stupidly catchy. If you’ve played Kirby before, you’ll recognize the vibe immediately, but it’s a great way to kill time on a bus ride or just unwind with something cheerful. It’s not the hardest game out there, but sometimes you just want to inhale enemies and float around without stress.
