Ever wondered what happens when Kirby gets tossed into Sonic’s world? This fan-made Genesis ROM hack answers that question with pure, ridiculous charm. One second you’re sucking up badniks to steal their powers—fire breath, electric shocks, the usual Kirby chaos—and the next, you’re barreling down slopes at Sonic-speed, barely avoiding spikes. The collision of Kirby’s floaty jumps and Sonic’s momentum-heavy physics feels weirdly good, like eating peanut butter with pickles.

It’s janky in the best way. Some copy abilities straight-up break certain sections (in a fun, "how did I even pull that off?" way), and the sprite work is surprisingly solid for a hack. Green Hill Zone with Kirby’s round little body bouncing off loops shouldn’t work, but it does. If you’ve ever yelled "what if these two games had a baby?" while half-asleep, this is basically that thought given pixelated life.

Not gonna lie, I’d trade a Chaos Emerald for an official version. Until then, this exists, and it’s glorious.
