Game Overview

Kitchin Panic is a Game Boy game from 1990, developed by Taito. It arrived during a period when the handheld was flooded with arcade-style games, offering a quick, frantic alternative to the deeper adventures and puzzles that were also popular on the platform.

You control a chef who must prepare orders by grabbing ingredients that scroll across the bottom of the screen while avoiding food items that fly toward you from above. The main objective is to complete each dish before the timer runs out, serving customers to earn points and advance to progressively more chaotic kitchens. Signature mechanics include dodging airborne projectiles like eggs and fish, timing your grabs for the correct ingredients as they move on a conveyor, and managing multiple orders at once as the speed increases. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes sharply, especially in later stages that introduce more complex recipes and faster enemy patterns. It feels like juggling with one hand while fending off a food fight with the other.
