Kwik Snax came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Codemasters. It was a time when simple, maze-chase games were common, and this one fit right in on a floppy disk. You didn't need a powerful computer to run it, just a basic setup and a willingness to deal with some quirky, fast-paced action.
You control a little chef character, moving screen by screen through a series of themed restaurants. Your goal is to collect every food item on each stage before the timer runs out. The main challenge comes from the enemies; angry, sentient kitchen utensils like flying forks and bouncing spoons that home in on your position. The pacing is relentless, with everything moving a bit quicker than feels comfortable, which makes even the early levels surprisingly tense. It feels like a frantic race against a kitchen that has decided to fight back.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
