You control the champion of one of the Great Clans, navigating a web of alliances and rivalries through a combination of menu-driven choices and tactical duels. Your main objective is to outmaneuver other clans to claim the throne of the Emerald Emperor, a goal achieved through careful resource management, political marriages, and military engagements. Signature mechanics include assigning your limited pool of courtiers to various provinces to exert influence and engaging in structured, turn-based iaijutsu duels that resolve conflicts with a single, decisive stroke. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty is punishing; a single misstep in diplomacy can unravel years of progress. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
