LEGO Batman: The Video Game came out for the PlayStation Portable in 2008, developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive. It was part of that wave of portable LEGO games that felt perfectly suited for quick sessions, back when the PSP was still a major handheld. The game captures the look and humor of the LEGO series, with Gotham City built brick by brick.

You control Batman, Robin, and eventually a whole roster of Gotham heroes and villains, switching between them to use their unique abilities to solve puzzles and access new areas. The main goal is to stop classic villains like the Joker and Penguin across a series of story levels, each filled with breakable objects, hidden collectibles, and simple combat. You smash nearly everything in sight to collect studs, build LEGO structures from scattered piles of bricks, and occasionally pilot vehicles or use character specific gadgets, like Batman's grapple or Robin's magnetic suit. The pacing is steady, the difficulty gentle but engaging, and it just feels satisfying to dismantle a room piece by piece, then rebuild it into something new.
