Lightforce on the Amiga is one of those games that looks simple at first—just another shoot 'em up—but then the disk drive starts grinding and suddenly you're dodging enemy fire through tight corridors. The controls feel a little stiff compared to later shooters, but there's something satisfying about the way your ship moves, like it's got actual weight to it.

The first few levels ease you in with basic patterns, but by the third stage, you're weaving through bullet hell before that was even a thing. And the music? Pure Amiga chiptune goodness—that crunchy, digitized soundtrack sticks in your head way longer than it should.

It’s not perfect—some of the hitboxes are weirdly generous—but for an early Amiga shooter, it holds up better than most. Just don’t expect any mercy from the later bosses.
