You control a party of characters, including Parn the knight and Deedlit the elf, exploring the world of Lodoss from a top-down perspective. The main goal is to stop an ancient evil from returning; you do this by traveling across the continent, talking to villagers, and delving into multi-level dungeons. Combat is turn-based, with each character having unique skills and magic to use against monsters. The pacing is deliberate, and some dungeons can feel long, but the challenge is fair if you take time to level up. It feels like guiding a band of heroes through a familiar but well-told fantasy tale.
