Play LostMagic (J) Online
You draw spells with the stylus—messy at first, but soon you're flanking enemies with summoned monsters while dodging attacks. The Japanese menus are confusing, but the chaos feels good once it clicks.

Game Overview
LostMagic is one of those DS games that actually makes the stylus feel essential—you draw runes on the screen to cast spells, and at first, your shaky lines might accidentally summon a fireball when you wanted a healing spell. It’s messy in the best way.
You play as this kid mage who’s got to wrangle monsters into fighting for you while dodging attacks, and the strategy part sneaks up on you. Early on, you’ll just spam whatever spells work, but later battles force you to actually think about positioning and which creatures counter enemy types. The story’s nothing groundbreaking, but there’s something charming about the way your little army of goblins or elementals follows you around like lost puppies.
Fair warning: the Japanese version has some menus you’ll need to poke at blindly unless you read the language, but the core gameplay’s intuitive enough to stumble through.
