Luigi’s Mansion is one of those games that makes you realize how underrated Luigi is. You start off thinking it’s just a silly ghost-hunting spinoff, but within minutes, you’re sucked into this eerie, creaky mansion with nothing but a flashlight and the Poltergust 3000—basically a glorified ghost vacuum. The atmosphere is weirdly cozy for a haunted house, with all these little details like rattling chandeliers and portraits that follow you with their eyes.
The ghosts are more goofy than scary, but they’ve got personality—some hide in dressers, others just float around laughing at you. The real fun is figuring out how to catch them: shine your light to stun ‘em, then suck ‘em up while they’re dazed. It’s oddly satisfying, like popping bubble wrap. And yeah, Mario’s technically the damsel in distress here, which is a nice change of pace.
