Mad Planets is one of those arcade games that makes you do a double-take—since when do planets have anger issues? Instead of blasting spaceships, you're up against these furious celestial bodies that charge at you while hurling their moons like deadly projectiles. At first, you think, "Okay, just shoot the planet," but nope—you gotta take out all its moons first. Then they turn bright orange and start kamikaze-diving straight at you. Panic mode activated.

The controls feel surprisingly smooth—one stick moves your ship, the other rotates it—and there's this weirdly satisfying rhythm to dodging moons, picking off satellites, and then scrambling when the planet goes berserk. If you wipe them out fast enough (before they even finish growing), you get a "perfect round" bonus, which feels like flexing on the solar system. Every few levels, there's a breather where you rescue astronauts while dodging comets, like a cosmic ambulance driver with terrible luck.

It's chaotic, a little ridiculous, and way more fun than it has any right to be. Just don't get too attached to those astronauts.
